Little Free Libraries - Call for Submissions

Culture Days Manitoba, Winnipeg Public Library, and StorefrontMB invites local artists, architects and designers to design Little Free Libraries for our neighbourhoods.

The Winnipeg Design Festival celebrates and promotes contemporary architecture, design, planning, and art in the city of Winnipeg. WDF strives to create a sustainable annual festival that is recognized in the national and international design community; as well as become the must attend design event in Winnipeg for both the public and the design community.

The Warming Huts

2:00 pm CST, Monday, September 30, 2013

Warming Huts v. 2014 is launching a Call for Proposals to select design teams to create three (3) new, unique shelters for the Forks Rivertrail, on the Assiniboine River, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The shelters will be installed along the world’s longest skating trail ( between the end of January, and the beginning of March, 2014. This is the fourth annual competition launched for the Warming Huts.

ON_THE_BOARDS is an initiative of STOREFRONT_MANITOBA aimed at strengthening the design community through comradery, sharing, discussion and critique of work among peers. Architects, Landscape Architects, Interior Designers and Planners are encouraged to take part. Hosting is voluntary, rotating through professional offices.

The e-Bulletin is published semi-monthly as an informational resource to members of the Manitoba Association of Architects. Send your events and notices directly to Jason Robbins ( As well, if you would like to submit an image for the Every building has an Architect series, you can send them directly to Jason Robbins. Include all applicable credits including architect and photo; images should be 800px x 600px or less.
