BENCH MARK - Call for proposals

The deadline to submit proposals electronically is WEDNESDAY JULY 6, 2016 at 4pm

The Winnipeg Trails Association and Storefront Manitoba invite designers to submit proposals for the design of a permanent bench along the Bishop Grandin Trail - Winnipeg’s longest multi-use trail. We are looking for designers to help us make / celebrate places that embody physical literacy, add re nement to the art of traveling and provides a place to sit, read, discuss and exchange.

We are asking designers to put their skills to work and challenge the concept of a ‘common’ bench - these big ideas could then be a bench that you make / construct. Benches are just as important as the pathway they lay astride and we are looking for an intervention to allow people to stop for a moment - people on the move need places to wait, rest, read and more.

Winnipeg Design Festival - Call for Collaborators

Deadline June 10

As curators of the festival last year, we hope to elevate the success and excitement of the design festival by continuing to expose the many facets and fields of design. We want to expand upon the scope of what design is and educate the public toward its value on both an individual and urban scale.

The success of the festival is the sum of creative collaborators, passionate volunteers, generous sponsors, and excited participants. We want to include each design discipline to take part in celebrating and promoting good design. WDF is sending a CALL-OUT to all interested designers and makers to collaborate with us in making this festival more impactful than ever before.

Please see the attached CALL-OUT for details on how you can be a part of the Winnipeg Design Festival 2016.
