RAW:Gallery is proud to present RAW:Re:Definition
Eric Lesage's project "Re: Definition" was born of a simple question: what would happen if text was woven? Working on a simple frame loom in 2005, using a 1956 Webster's Encyclopedic Dictionary, he began to create a series of panels. Influenced by Marshall McLuhan's "The Medium is the Message", this work explores the interaction of two highly linear media, weaving and movable type. Set against the textile framework, the text acts as a graphic element; any meaningful reading of the words would be an act of the viewer.

Opening January 13th, 8 pm
Closing February 12th, 8pm
