Cool Gardens is pleased to announce the Call for Entries for the international 2015 Competition! Cool Gardens is a public exhibition that takes place from July 4th to September 26th, 2015. Presented by StorefrontMB and The Forks, Cool Gardens is an exhibit of contemporary garden and art installations that offers a shift of sensation for the summer—cooling—as a general theme for public projects in Winnipeg’s downtown.

The 2015 Competition seeks creative proposals from designers, architects, landscape architects, and / or artists who are interested in challenging and celebrating the interface between urbanism, landscape, and design. Engage the urban design culture of downtown Winnipeg!

RAIC Awards

January 8, 2015 before 4:00 p.m. ET.

The RAIC administers the largest architecture awards program in Canada, recognizing excellence in the field. The program seeks to increase public awareness of architecture, contribute to the development of the discipline and practice of architecture, and promote collective learning on the part of the architectural community. Award recipients are selected by a jury or peer-assessment committee.

The Awards of Excellence, awarded every two years, are: the Advocate for Architecture Award, the Allied Arts Medal, The Green Building Award, The Innovation in Architecture Award, and the President’s Award for Media in Architecture.

CSCE 2015 Regina Annual Conference - Call for Abstracts

The time has arrived…the 2015 CSCE conference Call for Abstracts is open. We encourage you to put on your thinking caps and submit an abstract for what will undoubtedly be an extremely exciting technical program.

The 1st Annual Conference on Innovation in Engineering Practice is what you’ve been asking for – an annual conference that offers a stream of presentations that takes applied research and puts it into practice. The intent is with your support and participation, this will become an annual component within our conference.

The Innovation in Engineering Practice sessions will provide real world application in what we as civil engineers do best – create value to society. This conference will provide a non-juried submission format for civil engineering practitioners, planners and industry leaders. Sessions will showcase leading practices in several civil engineering disciplines and will provide the ideal forum for exchange of knowledge and ‘on the ground’ ingenuity.

The deadline for this specialty conference is January 30th, 2015.
